The Weißenbach cave project

The working area of WCP is the south-eastern end of the Totes Gebirge and includes the cave register groups 1634, 1635 and 1636. The project was founded by Ernest Geyer and Franz Schmidt in 1996. In the beginning the main research activities of the WCP-Team referred to the area of the Weißenbach community. During the years it expanded to the entry area of the Weißenbach stream and includes now the area oft the communities Liezen and Wörschach. The area reaches in the north the Hochmölbing mountain chain (2336 m.a.s.l),  in the east the Torstein (2236 m.a.s.l) and the Rabensteinkogel (1478 m.a.s.l) and in the west the Raidling (1909 m.a.s.l). The southern border is the river Enns.
